I do know that D7953 is for bone grafting a socket. However, sometimes I use mineral plugs instead. Do you use the same code but have a policy that you charge less since the cost of materials is much less? Just wondering.
same code D7953 socket preservation. doesn’t matter what material you use. AUTO/ALLO/XENO/ALLOPLAST. usually D7953 is not a covered benefit. so you can charge what ever you like. But if 7953 is a covered benefit w/ your contracted insurance, then you have to charge the contracted fee. I charge same regardless of biomaterials. but if you use a membrane you can charge D4266 or D4267 on top of D7953.
